ICTAD NATIONAL AWARDS FOR CONSTRUCTION EXCELLANCE

The Annual ICTAD National Awards for construction Excellence symbolizes its commitment to promote quality and professionalism in the construction industry in Sri Lanka.

ICTAD Awards for Construction Excellence which started in 1990 recognizes outstanding performance in Construction Management and organization, high degree of professionalism in technical expertise and quality, participation in the promotion and training of craftsmen/tradesmen and introduction of innovative and appropriate technology in achieving excellence in Construction projects.

In addition to the Construction Excellence Awards presented to Building projects (which has now become a regular activity), ICTAD will present “ICTAD Awards for Construction Performance’ for Civil Engineering Projects; Roads, Bridges, Water Supply and Sewerage ,Electrical and Mechanical Installations for the second consecutive year.

Also ICTAD presents awards for the use of Innovative Technology / Techniques in constructions. Use of Innovative Technology / Techniques in arriving at cost savings, time savings, quality and utilization of resources will be considered in presenting this award.

Other annual awards presented are for Effective Adaptation of Safety Measures, Human Resource Development etc.

Who may apply for the Award

Those applying for the award

	should be registered under the National Registration and Grading of Construction Contractors
	should be members of National Construction Association of Sri Lanka, (NCASL)
	should not appear in a list of suspended or blacklisted Contractors, issued by any Government Agency

Requirements of the Project

Only projects involved with the building construction are considered for the Construction Excellence award . Other multi disciplinary projects will be considered for the competition only if a reasonable portion of the project involves new construction of buildings. Improvements and renovations for buildings are not considered for the competition.

Submission of Application

Applications are received throughout the year, for the building projects. Contractor should submit the application for a particular building project at the inspection of the project. (Sample Application Form is given).

Applications are called annually through news papers for the Performance Award Competition for Civil Engineering projects and for other awards.
